I want to thank everyone that already applied to be a FOX in the
upcoming Winter 2006-2007 FOX Hunts on 80M and 40M.

Like the marines, we're still looking for a few GOOD men.....or ladies.
I want to encourage you to please consider applying to be fox this
season. It would be really great to get a broad spectrum of stations
around the US and Canada. I also think it would be nice to see
representation from each foxhunt team in the Fox list. We need 20
Foxhunts for 40M and 20 Foxes for 80M and some alternates.

So, what do you need to do to become a FOX. Well, the first step is to
visit the Foxhunt website www.qrpfoxhunt.org <http://www.qrpfoxhunt.org>
. If you're new to QRP Foxhunting you'll find a really nice Foxhunt
primer there. Also, please read the Rules and Guidelines for the hunts.
On the website you'll find FOX applications for 80M and 40M. Please
feel free to apply for either or both.

*IT IS REALLY IMPORTANT THAT YOU CONSIDER BEING A FOX AND APPLYING VIA
THE WEBSITE ASAP*. I would really appreciate your application by
Monday, October 30th so that we can prepare the schedule for the Foxhunt
season.

The 80M hunt will run from 11/07/06 through 3/20/07. Each hunt will be
on Tuesday evenings, and there will be no byes for holidays.

Dates for the 40M hunt are 11/09/06 through 3/22/07, on Thursday
evenings. Again, no breaks for holidays.

Each hunt will last for 90 minutes.

Most of all, I want to encourage everyone on QRP-L and QFOX to join in
on the Fox hunts this winter season. It is so much fun and always
amazing to listen to the pileups generating by foxes. QRPers have some
of the best signals on the bands and, without a doubt, are a great bunch
of skilled operators.

GL everyone, and let's get ready to have some FUN this FOX hunting season.
72,
Jerry N9AW
Foxhunt Committee member
