Here are some last minute operating hints for the Ontario QP tomorrow from Bob Nash, now past-president of the Contest Club Ontario, just in from the CCO reflector.

Hello CCO
Just a few helpers:
- Look for 160m contacts at 0400z and just before 0500z break time. 160m is great for intra-Ontario QSO's. Try to get on.
- Check 2 and 6m15 minutes after the hour in city areas. Ask for QSY's when working anyone on HF that you might think is within range. This works anywhere and for other bands as well.
- The Suggested Frequencies are for Rover, Mobile and QRP but don't be afraid to operate near there.
- If a band doesn't seem to have skip within Ontario migrate up into the American sub-band on 40 and 20m. There are 50 multipliers just across the border.
- Keep a running list of serial numbers when working Michigan stations on Saturday. Add it to your exchange. They only count for MI for us on each band but those points add up.
- The YUDX CW contest is on 2100z to 0500z, then 0900z to 1700z. You can work everyone. Just add your ITU zone to the exchange, zone 4 for Ontario except for NW Ontario in zone 3.
- Watch for California, Florida and Georgia on the high bands. We may have a nice bunch of reciprocal QSO's.
- Call CQ! Remember we are the foxes in this one. Of course tuning for S&P will still do wonders for your score particularly when you visit those "other" simultaneous contests.
- Don't be put off if conditions sound terrible, which they are bound to at times this year. One year when conditions were particularly awful I ran QRP and had the highest score in the contest. Persistence pays off!
- Read over the rules and keep a copy handy!
- Good Luck!
