QRP-ARCI SP-1 FDIM BUILDATHON OPERATING CONTEST

This is a one time contest that provides ample
reason to build and operate the SP-1 transmitter that
was offered as the Buildathon kit at FDIM 2007.  For
those that could not attend, this is the chance to
join in with those that did in an on-air celebration
of kitbuilding success!
 
Date/Time:  2300Z on 9 June 2007 to 0300Z on 10 June
2007.
 
Mode:  CW Only
 
Exchange:  
SP-1 Users send:  RST, S/P/C, SP-1 Serial Number
(homebrewed SP-1's can send HB as Serial Number)
 
Non SP-1 Users send:  RST, S/P/C, Power Out
 
QSO Points:
SP-1 Users = 10 points
Non SP-1 User worked on Different Continent = 10
points
Non SP-1 User on Same Continent = 5 points
 
Multiplier: SPC (State/Province/Country) total.
 
Suggested Frequencies:
+/- 7.030 MHz (remember that these are Crystal
Controlled Transmitters)
 
Score:  Final Score = Points x SPCs + Bonus Points
 
Bonus Points:
If you attended FDIM 2007 Buildathon and completed
the entire build of your SP-1 during the buildathon
then you may claim 5000 bonus points.
 
If you attended FDIM 2007 but did not complete the
build of your SP-1 during the buildathon you may claim
2500 bonus points. 

If you attended FDIM 2007 and have since modified,
tweaked or changed any aspect of your SP-1 then you
may claim 1000 bonus points.
 
Categories:  Entires will fall into one of the
following classes:
 
A>  SP-1 built during FDIM 2007 Buildathon
 
B>  SP-1 built as either a kit or homebrew project
by operator that did not attend FDIM 2007 Buildathon
 
C>  Non SP-1 user
 
How to Participate:  Get on any of the air near 7.030
MHz.  Work as many stations calling CQ QRP or CQ TEST
as possible, or call CQ QRP or CQ TEST yourself!

Remember that these transmitters are Crystal
controlled.
 
Email Log Submission:  Submit Logs in plain text
format along with a summary stating your Callsign,
Entry Category, Actual Power and Station Description
along with score calculation to contest at qrparci.org

Snail mail Log Submission:  Submit Logs along with
a summary stating your Callsign, Entry Category,
Actual Power and Station Description along with score

Deadline:  Entries must be postmarked on or before
9 July 2007.
 
Results:  Will be published in QRP Quarterly and shown
on the QRP-ARCI website.
 
Certificates:  
Will be awarded to the top scoring entrant in each
category, as well as the SP-1 user with the most QSOs
and the Non SP-1 user that works the most SP-1s.
