I second Jeff's appeal. It would be great to have more Canadians in
the QRP-ARCI contests, and not just for the new multipliers for us regulars.
The events are moderate speed CW, so there should be no problem in copying.
We have a team or two from Contest Club Ontario (CCO) that helps QRP-ARCI QP
participation from ON, but most of the team are QRO contesters. We could use
more Ontario QRPers as well. Jeff or myself can supply info on CCO. I think
that Jeff would allow associate members of CCO who don't live in the
province to be on CCO teams -- I don't think that there is a geographical
limit for team members in QRP-ARCI QSO parties.

Conditions are not good for QRP in the ARRL DX SSB contest this weekend,
at least in Ottawa. A struggle to get just a few Europeans and Caribbean ops
with the vertical.

Hi Everybody!

I've been looking back through the previous entrants to the QRP-ARCI
contests since 2000. I was surprised by the lack of Canadian entrants ...

It appears as though since 2000, the only Provinces that have had any
entrants are Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia and Newfoundland. Alberta
had one entrant, but it was a VE7 running portable.

I know that we have members on this list from all across the country, and I
hope I can get some committment from the members to try to get on the air
and have some fun in the QRP-ARCI events this year.

This coming year I would like to see all of the Provinces and States
represented in our two major contests (Spring QSO Party and Fall QSO Party.)
This will give the opportunity for those that are working towards a QRP-WAS,
2-way QRP-WAS, Canadian QRP Award or 2-way QRP Canadian QRP Award the chance
to find the contacts they are looking for. I will be sending out emails to
some of the other state QRP groups and individuals from the
under-represented states as well.

The Spring QSO Party runs April 7&8/07 and the Fall QSO Party runs October
20&21/07.

If you think you can be on the air, please let me know and I'll scratch your
Province off my list ...

If there is a way to make the contests more appealingto the Canadian
operators, please let me know that as well.
