Hank,
I agree that Sunday morning for the ARRL DX contest was OK. I got on before church for a while and worked a few a stations. When I got home, things were a lot worse with fairly rapid QSB. I think some of the DXpiditions might have been disappointed as well, judging from the number repeats I heard them requesting.
I wanted to thank you for the 2 HK1 contacts. I had not worked that country on 40m QRP and appreciated the wee hours contact. Good ears on your part. You must have been tired after a long night -- but warm...
I also agree with John that routine QRP from Canada is tough at this time. It makes for shrot ragchews. I even go to the full 15 watts on the K2 in FISTS contests when I'm not working the contest stations. Otherwise it's too hard for the other ops, who don't contest much I suspect. But that makes regular contesting all the more important for QRP!

I don't know about that ...... I got on this morning for a couple hours (even though it's SSB!!) and worked about 50 stations & 30 mults in 2.5 or 3 hours on 15 and 20M. Most were on 15M and 20 was tough going at 5 watts. Some of the Europeans were a struggle, but seemed to me that the Caribbean was fairly easy. The VP8 said "no wonder you're weak" when I said "59 Mike India QRP"!
No where as much fun as it was two weekends ago when we were down in Cartagena Colombia using HK1/K8DD!!!! !!
