I bought a THP HT-750 QRP rig (check it out:
http://www.rigpix.com/tokyohypower/ht750.htm), direct
from Japan. It was almost $500 Cdn. I had to do a
bank-to-bank transfer from my account (Bank of
Montreal) to their bank in Japan. I guess that service
may have cost me a little bit. I am pretty sure it
came by regular post, and I don't remember what
additional charges there were (so they couldn't have
been much).
Excellent company, excellent products, excellent
support.
