[qrp-canada] Portable Antenna for Rocky Island

Hi All.

This summer I will have a chance to operate from a new
island or two for the Canadian Island Award. I.C. has
assigned me the callsign ... VO1NFLD ... and the trip
is planned for around July 1st with the Canada Day
Contest.

The islands and the community that I will be staying
in are not accessible by roads, and I will need to be
able to carry in the antennas, and have the antennas
take up as little space as possible on a supply boat
to the community.

The islands are primarily rock ... Newfoundland got
it's nickname honestly ... and there are no trees for
wire antenna support.

I'm looking for advice for a vertical antenna support.
I have a Cushcraft AP8A that would be really nice to
use, but not sure on a secure support. My fallback is
a couple of fishing pole verticals with my PVC base (
http://www3.symatico.ca/wjhetherington/antenna.htm ),
perhaps I could even string an 88ft doublet from
between the two vertical poles.

Any advice????

Thanks.
