Subject: [QRP-L] Advance notice of a QRP DXpedition
This is the announcement that I have sent out to some of the DX
publications:
PZ5WW (AC8W), PZ5DD (K8DD), PZ5TX (KB8TXZ) and PZ5AY (W5JAY) will
be operating from Suriname from the QTH of PZ5RA February 13-18 including
the ARRL CW DX Contest. During the CW test they will be doing a M/S
effort
using PZ5WW. Look for activity on all bands from 1.8 to 28 MHz with
a particular
emphasis on low bands. QSL PZ5DD & PZ5WW via K8DD. QSL PZ5TX via
KB8TXZ. QSL PZ5AY via W5JAY.
Added QRP info:
In the past when we travel to DX countries I have made it a tradition that
the
Thursday evening before the contest has always designated as QRP evening.
That would be Feb 15 from around greyline time for PZ until I can not hear
any
QRP stations anymore.
In the past I have hung out around 7040 to 7044 and tried to avoid the QRM.
I
hesitate to go down to 7030 because that is down in "DX country" and I am
not
trying to generate a pile-up, but I want to work 2XQRP! It would be
greatly
appreciated if some of the stations in EU could suggest frequencies up
around
7040 that are relatively QRM free. We will be using a Mosley Pro-67-B 7
element beam 10m to 40m.
Last year on QRP night when we were in HK I was asked if I wanted
to be spotted on the DX Clusters I said "no no no no". I eventually
got spotted and that caused me to move frequency!
So, hope to work as many 2XQRP stations as I can with the K2 from
Paramaribo, Suriname Feb 15 starting about 0000 or 0100Z.
